The Interview
StoriesThe kid looked twelve. He sat behind a glass desk, tapping a stylus.
—We’re looking for "disruptors," John. People who live the brand.
John looked at his hands. Scuffed knuckles. Real work.
—I just want the shifts, mate.
—It’s about "synergy." We’re a family here. If you’re not "all-in," the ecosystem fails.
John pictured the warehouse. The cold. The crates. The "ecosystem" was a draughty shed in Coventry.
—Is there a tea break?
The kid blinked, confused by the word.
—We provide "hydration stations."
John stood up.
—I’m a disruptor, yeah?
—Exactly!
—Good. I’m disrupting this interview.
He walked out.
